Leviathan A dungeons and dragons story
“I’m going out Ivy…” a young looking man said, coming down a flight of stairs, dressed in a white kimono like robe with two swords strapped across his back. He is rather tall, around six feet, has jet black hair and dark brown eyes. He appears to be well equipped for a small journey or venture, and looks directly at a young girl who has similar black hair. The girl is about six or seven years old, and is eating a bowl of soup. “Oh, big brother, going out on a mission?” she asked hopefully and the man nodded, “Take care…” he said slowly leaving the house. “Good luck Sekkai!” she called after him.
‘Poor girl… I sympathize for her, being a fellow orphan… and I found out that she comes from Ecitca as well… perhaps she is related to the Narazan family? Oh well, I’ve got to bring in the money so we can stay together… she is all I have right now. Of course Amy will take care of her while I am gone, such friendly people in this town...’ Sekkai thought to himself. He walked the bustling streets of Anadam, enjoying the tall white bricked buildings and the various noises from merchant vendors. Underneath his robe he wore protective hide armor that helped defend from the attacks he could not normally dodge. He then reached the venture committee bulletin where news and quests were posted. There were a few fliers left of a quest sent for by the lord of the committee, Sekkai took one and read it.
“Huh, so a mapmaker has gone missing it says… Solgar? Hm, I’ve never heard of him before, must be a local disappearance.” He said scanning over the sheet. “Wow, he even had his own troop. I wonder what happened to them, it says they went missing in the Siryl mines… I’ve heard many things about there, finding it will be easy.” He tucked away the flier and quickly made his way towards the ruins the fliers spoke of. After a days travel he rested just outside of the opening to the ruins. There was a stone stairway leading up to a fine triple door entrance, and he slowly crept forward in. It was early morning still and there was a possibility that some of the other adventurers had come into the cave. He saw a glimpse of one up ahead.
‘If they are looking for the mapmaker, then I should ask to team up- then I wont get shafted in the prize money!’ he thought to himself walking up to the person, appearing as friendly as possible. “Hello, are you looking for the mapmaker?” he asked politely, he knew instantly that it was a tiefling, the horns and the sharp eyes gave him away instantly, but he seemed to relax when Sekkai meant no harm to him. “Why yes, I am… my name is Aropeus…” he greeted. “Hey, I am looking for him too- why don’t we team up for a while?” Sekkai offered and they agreed. They didn’t get very far when they heard a noise behind them, “You hear that?” Sekkai asked reaching for his sword, but he paused, his low light vision let him see that there was a dragon-born coming down the hallway. “Ho! Are you looking for the mapmaker as well?” Sekkai asked, making sure that this adventurer would also agree to team up. “Why yes, I am…” the dragon born said with a gruff but honorable tone. ‘A Tiefling and a Dragon-born, my lucky day…’ Sekkai thought slightly sarcastically, he was hoping to be the first one to enter the cave so he could get enough money for Ivy and himself. “You wouldn’t mind teaming up with us would you? Me and Aropeus are also looking for the missing mapmaker.” Sekkai suggested and like the Tiefling they agreed. “Hm, a map came with the f-flier!” the dragon-born said, with a small grunt. “Hn, my name is Creal…by the way…” he said looking over the map. ‘I forgot a copy of the map… maybe this isn’t such a bad idea after all…’ the fighter thought looking over it carefully. “Hm, I think we should check out the library, that is where I was headed anyway…” Aropeus said pointing a spot on the map. “Hn, good idea, a mapmaker might be looking up value, books…” and so, the three of them made it almost to where the doors to the library where when they heard another noise.
‘Damn it all! Not another adventurer!’ Sekkai thought, turning down the hallway. “Do you hear, s-something?” Creal asked turning his scaly head. “Another one?” Aropeus added, turning as well. “From the looks of it, it’s a cleric…a well versed cleric…” Sekkai said his eyes scanning the dim lighted cave. Sure enough robe and hat came bounding through the hallway and then they stopped. “What ho! Who’s there?” the cleric asked slowing down his pace. “We are looking for the mapmaker…and you are?” Sekkai asked as he came into full view. “My name is Asdra, and I am indeed a cleric, and you are?” he asked, “This is Aropeus and that is Creal-.” He gestured to the Tiefling and the Dragon-born who gave a respectful bow in turn. “And I am Sekkai Karkale’” he said with a nod.
‘Asdra… Asdra the cleric? Surely not the same Asdra from the recent texts… he fought in the Tel’sar war with the legendary Aramil… maybe the Great Tinner is also in the ruins…’ Sekkai thought but not giving any voice to his findings, he had doubts, but he would soon see just how powerful the cleric was.

Meanwhile, unknown to the four warriors, a burly dwarf had entered the cave just before Asdra. “I smell unwanted adventures…” the dwarf mumbled hefting his war hammer and looking down an uninviting flight of stairs. “It looks dark and dangerous… a perfect place for a dwarf!” he whispered and then began to descend down into the depths of the stairs, which he found at the end a very old, but sturdy door. He pried it open and began to explore the bottom floor of the basement… or so he thought it was. His eyes slowly adjusted to the light as he felt his way down the corridor, his mind was about him, and an aura of experience surrounded his movements. They were calculating, not nervous or even cautious, but experienced. His skills as a dungeoneer had given the name The Great Tinner, and he was known throughout the world of Godern, Tel’sar and Slyphil. The second in command of the Aramil mercenaries, yet he had no wish to be the leader of such a guild, and felt like venturing on his own time. Now he was doing petty quests for the venture committee to find Aramil in hopes of regaining the good old quest days… ‘There are still questions I need to be answered… Tharivol chose not to answer my questions about Eberk…I wonder why?’ The Great Tinner thought moving down the passageway. His thoughts suddenly snapped back to the here and now, and he saw a light coming from a door. He moved over to it and opened the stone door… what he saw surprised him. A room full of various tables and weapons for doing surgery were in this room, as well as many rotting corpses and skeletons. His shook quickly faded, being used to seeing such monsters and what not. He went over to the wall full of weapons and utensils. He found that they were well kept, but were nothing compared to his war hammers. “Whoever is been doing this stuff has either taken a vacation, or is hiding…somewhere…” he inferred by taking in the scene. Many of the skeletons were missing limbs or body parts and he slowly stalked over to the north door, and lifted it open to find another dark hallway before him… “This is going to take a while…”
Back upstairs, the four warriors make their way into the library. Aropeus quickly thinks to look in the ‘S’ section for Solgar, to see if the mapmaker had any books in the library. Asdra then looked about. “Say, if there are four of us, suppose we should split into two different teams you know… we both have two attackers, and two ranged fighters…how does that sound?” he asked and Sekkai nodded, “Then I am going with you, Asdra…” he jumped to the most welcoming spot he could find. He did not care too much for Creal or Aropeus, the Tiefling was a painful reminder of his past- and of the tribes of demons and half demons who made him an orphan to begin with. The dragon-born was something he had only heard of, not really taken apart in. Just as they decided to get into groups, Sekkai’s ears picked up the sound of page tearing. “Asdra… there is something in here…” he said quietly, silently pulling out his long sword. The cleric nodded, “Mind I go ahead and see what it is?” he asked and with the okay, he went forward silently, and turned around a bookcase seeing two hobgoblins ripping apart books from selves. Their behavior was quite maddening, and Sekkai took a glance back seeing that Aropeus was across the room from the Hobgoblins looking at the ‘S’ section still. Sekkai slowly crept back to the others. “What are they?” Asdra asked readying what appeared to be the holy symbol of Pelor. “From the looks of it, two hobgoblins ripping books to pieces-and they don’t seem to notice us…” he said and the cleric nodded, turning to Creal. “Go over to Aropeus and defend him incase they charge him…” Asdra ordered and the dragon-born readily moved to help out with the formation. Sekkai could see a sign of eagerness in Asdra’s face, as if the cleric could do this in his sleep. They slowly crept forward, “Let me strike first…” he gave a glance back at the others, noticing that the ranger tiefling had readied his bow. The cleric raised his holy symbol, strike a holy flame into the creature as it howled in the sheer pain of the holy attack, its friend quickly headed for the door. As fast as lightning Aropeus shot two arrows in the creature, causing it to writher in pain. Sekkai took this moment to strike down the creature, and if fell in a bloody heap. Asdra then turned to the fleeing hobgoblin and a brilliant light appeared and the creature was no more. Sekkai then bent down and picked up the books on the ground and began to place them back in alphabetical order, Asdra helped him with the task.
‘Without a doubt, this is the same Asdra, his skill and power… I have only heard of one Asdra, and this must be him… hopefully I can learn some more about him if we explore some more…’ Sekkai thought as he finished the task. “Hm, lets move on ahead, just you and me- it will be faster that way…” he said as Creal and Aropeus came over to them. “If we get split up, we will rendezvous in the library okay?” the fighter suggested. “You are leaving us behind, hn?” Creal asked, and Sekkai gave him a reassuring smile. “You two can explore on your own, it will be faster… I’m sure you’ll do fine…” he said and the dragon-born turned to the tiefling and shrugged.
As Sekkai and Asdra headed out, an old wizard entered the ruins. He was of elvish blood, so his age did not show, a timeless being they called him. His attire was strange to him, a robe, and staff in hand he searched about the ruins with a sense of expertise. He silently moved down and took a look at the map he had received. He had heard a rumor that some of his former companions were looking for him- still… he liked to forget about the past, and that is why he had come to the land of the four lords in the first place. To find himself, and now that he had, he could finally complete something he wanted to- not just what others wanted. But why was he here… to find the mapmaker… or to find his friends. He chuckled, whichever came first, there was nothing in this world that scared him, except for maybe a dragon. He found a room, and knew that it must have been lodging for sentries.
“A good place to look- a mapmaker would want to make sure that nobody is still alive in here… maybe I’ll find a clue…” he murmured kicking down the rotting door, and found soon enough that there was indeed, nobody left alive inside of the sentry room, only a rotting corpse remained and he looked about, finding some paper, and a rusty key chain. He read the paper, which was a prison report about how three of their prisoners, had all died on the same day- but much of it was blotched out and it was hard to read. Stuffing that away, he turned towards the first cell he could find. He opened the door and found that there was even more corpses there… “Such a rancid place…” he muttered finding a stand… which he broke open to find nothing of value. “Huh… this seems quite dull… maybe the others are elsewhere…” He was Aramil of course… once druid, now wizard… who had been the leader of the most famed Aramil mercenaries.

The dwarf, had managed to make his way through the dark hallway, and as he peered around the corner he saw something dart off into the shadows. “A sentient being, I suppose…” he uttered, and moved down to find a door, this was a storage room, and he had hoped to find some sort of treasure inside.
Asdra and Sekkai made their way up the stairs, and into the upper levels. ‘This used to be an old school for the highly talented…magic wise that is… no fighter could train in this dismal ruin! Apparently, the school was closed down, because the founder was so picky about his entrants that there was lacking in funds or something like that… I think that if they really wanted to keep the school open they could have… but it was shifted into a research lab for dangerous creatures and magic…and also a prison from what the map Creal had… cells? I bet there were some hardened criminals they were going to do tests on…’
“Hm, what is this…?” Asdra broke into Sekkai’s thoughts digging through a nightstand at one end of the wall. There was a clear orb sitting on cloth cushion and the cleric pocketed both of them. And then systematically looked through a book he had found in one of the drawers. “Huh, what’s this… a diary?” he said looking at it. It was written in elvish, and this is what was written:
“This is the diary of Jilv, female elf warlock of Trulloch’s academy of the talaented… although I am the only girl student I know of- there seems to be a morbid sense about everyone here at the academy. It isn’t much of a school, we are locked up in this dismal place… not much sunlight, and little to do besides read the books in the library… and of course study magic. I had been recently kept awake by some noise I’ve been hearing… a monster perhaps…? Master Trulloch told me not to worry about it too much, said that I shouldn’t look into it… but I couldn’t just not think about it… it was keeping me awake! So I went down one night and saw them pushing monsters into the cellar… after that, I wasn’t allowed into the basement, only a one week trip to the library…”
Most of the entries were unreadable, but still… it had revealed the previous nature of the ruins and gave Sekkai a creepy feeling that something was watching them. After searching the room a bit more, they continued to look about- and eventually spread out into the other rooms in search for clues about the missing mapmaker. “Hm, Asdra… I think this blood is fresh!” Sekkai exclaimed as the two of them looked into a cell where a rotting corpse lay. It was quite fresh, and yet the blood seemed fresher than the actual body. “Hmm…” Asdra said, contemplating what it could have been that had made such a mess of the room.

Creal and Aropeus were enjoying themselves inside of the library planing out which way they might want to travel. "I think, they went up the stair, grn..." Creal grunted pointing at the map and nodding sagely. Aropeus shrugged, "Lets go and look upstairs then, there doesn't seem to be anything here about Solgar, so we wont know if we find him in till we do..."
The tiefling and the dragon-born left the library and began their search of the upper level. The door leading to the first room on the second floor was quiet and neat- yet it was clear that someone had already rummaged through the various drawers and stands. "Damn it all... nothing here to find!" the ranger said looking back at the freshly hacked doorway. It was here that the two of them split up in search of treasure, and clues for the missing Solgar. Creal went to the northern rooms, while Aropeus ventured to the south end. All was ransacked wherever he looked, dressers, nightstands, and even beds were turned over, and severely combed by someone beforehand. Whether it was Asdra and Sekkai- or some other bandit or robber they could not tell.
"Creal?" The tiefling called out after an unsuccessful search of the upper floor. But the Dragon-born was nowhere to be seen, although they had just met in the cave today he felt slightly lonely, but then again Creal most likely had good cause to run off and the ranger continued his search of floor before retracing his steps back to the lower entry way. He scanned the sentry's chamber, and the first cell- but found nothing but broken unless junk- and of course the ever overpowering stench of rotting flesh. I suppose he went off into the basement already... oh, I bet Sekkai and Asdra are there too... maybe even Solgar! the ranger than raced off towards the lower floor.
Just as Creal and Aropeus had begun their search a new, a pair of keen eyes appeared in the entrance of the cave- the seventh, and final adventurer to appear on the scene. Unlike the other six, she was a female. A tall slender Eladrin who had long flowing hair, and yet was so young it was shocking she was even in the cave at all. She step forward cautiously, making sure that no monsters were about, and she looked around for anyone who might standing about. A very appealing staircase lead down into the lower levels, and her intuition told her that there was something important to discover down there. Whether she knew about the mapmaker or not wasn't relevant... but it had been a long time since Xyvii had last seen anyone from the Aramil mercenaries... and yet she felt slightly distanced from them. The last member to join, if it was even official- and she felt that she had missed out on the grand scheme of things... besides the fact that Lord Thyse had tried to kill her, twice, is even for her to absolutely despise the Druid, but it was her trying to seek him out is what caused it, so she did not hold any hard feelings against Aramil or any of his companions. She was best acquainted with Creal and Dark, who were also looking for Aramil back before she became a plane touched and thanks to her exilke from Slyphil, became a Eladrin. She was not complaining, that her human side had evaporated completely, which Lord Thyse had intended to use to put an end to her once and for all- but instead the planar magics preserved her and grew inside of her transforming her into something new, yet welcoming. She was stronger, and even more willful than before. And now she was here, looking for Aramil, or so she thought she was. What else was a young, strong headed girl suppose to do... she was still a paladin after all... a loyal subject to her patron god or goddess and she needed a mercenary group to keep the flow of everyday life interesting and fulfilling. So she went down the stairs, and confidently, made her way through the first door of this soon to be complex dungeon....
The Great Tinner, who had stumbled upon a fine locked door to smash into bits, had successfully broken into it this time, and found that it was full of many crates and boxes. "Well this is boring... just a bunch of dull boxes... lets smash em up!" he said with a boyish grin, pulling out his war hammers and began a very rare occasion, dubbed: The box massacre. Bits of wood flew in all directions, smacking against the wall and its contents, (which were mostly made of glass and other fragile ware) were being utterly destroyed beyond use. During this rampage, he stumbled upon something new- it was a magically preserved chemical, stored in a square flask like container. He was very incautious about it, touching and feeling if it was cold or not. He then wrapped it up tightly in a warm blanket, and stuffed it into his pack and shrugged. "It might come in use if I ever find that bastard Aramil..." he joked sarcastically. Now it is time to find that creeper... he edged down the hallway finding that there was someone moving around in the shadows up ahead.
"Hey!, ahoy who goes there?" he called out running down the path, hoping to catch the creeper in the open. However instead of what he thought it was, out came a young, beautiful Eladrin- who looked oddly familiar... then it struck him a slightly odd, it was Xyvii, "By my beard..." he murmured putting away his war hammer, and looking at her intently. "Hello, hows it going?" she asked, in the same carefree manner. There was little that surprised Xyvii, even after her transformation. The great Tinner was taken aback for a while and then a gruff smile appeared on his face. "Aye, will if it ain't Xyvii... how ya lassie?" he asked giving her a pat on the back. "I fair well..." came the brief reply. They had little time to catch up in the burning darkness of the cave, so they moved on for a bit.
"What brings you down into this dismal place?" he asked after a while still shocked that she was here, in the land of the four lords, and now- still different from the last time he had seen her on their quest to find Tharivol. "Well, I saw this ruin and decide to explore it..." she started out, and the great Tinner nodded. She has always had such a spontaneous spirit...that girl... he thought to himself moving towards a manhole. "I saw a creeper come down this way yonder... " he said looking distastefully down the manhole. "Yeah, I was about to run right into him... but I manage to get out of his way..." she replied also looking down the hole.
"I can't see shit."
"Neither can I."
"Lets go then!"
The carefree pair leaped down the manhole and into the second basement of the ruins. It was even colder down here that the previous floor, but the reek of dead bodies had faded away, only to be replaced by an unnatural chemical smell. Before them, just a ways down the path was a glass wall, that was obviously sealing away something- behind the wall there was a strange phenomenon. They were glowing blue and green rocks, embedded into the walls and floor, and as they got closer to see what might be inside of the container they could hear extremely heaving breathing coming from inside.

The glass shattered, into a thousand different pieces all over the cavern floor, and down from the ceiling dropped a hideous manifestation. A monster with a dragons maw- attached to a scaly spider body, with many scaly legs. It roared in a low grumbling roar, and The Great Tinner quickly unsheathed his two war hammers, but the creature had already begun its deadly assault. It veered its head back, and then unleashed a horrible goo- that quickly began to eat away at the walls and floor. "Look out Xyvii! Its got acid breath!" The dwarf roared rushing forward smashing his hammers into the main skull of the creature. The Eladrin quickly adjusted, and went straight for one of the spider appendages, her sword merely bounced off of the scales and the creature roared trying to escape its infernal prison. "This thing will tear down the entire structure!" The dwarf roared hacking into the main body of the creature as it tried to strike the experienced warrior with one of its legs. It was an odd battle- the creature was not used to fighting, nor did it seem to fit well with its body. It grumbled and tried to climb back up into the ceiling, withering in pain, only to land back down causing the two adventures to fall back aways. It breathed out its acid goo once more, but they were ready for it and easily dodged the attack. Then Xyvii epically got onto one of its legs, and in an elegant strike managed to cut a tendon in one of the appendages. It shrieked, and turned to break through the wall and to its escape, but the dwarf quickly launched himself onto its head, smashing it down into the earth with a thunderous crash.
The beast writhered for a moment, and they sank into the ground which seemed to eat it up slowly. "Gah... crazed beast..." the dwarf grumbled. "Come on, lets continue exploring the mine...you did say you were looking for the mapmaker correct?" the paladin asked and the dwarf nodded, "Aye... Solgar I think..." and so the two of them managed to get their way from one area to the next- and found an old mine shaft. "I've read that the Siryl mines here have been used for criminals... perhaps... that monster we there just slain was apart of some shady business..." he suggested, as the descended into the dark, the game of the doors had begun.
Meanwhile on top of the ruins, Asdra and Sekkai were busy dissecting each room they encountered. The wandering cleric moved through room to room, and Sekkai watched him as he finished working with the cells. Now is my chance... to escape down below... I already know that there is nothing else to be found here...farewell Asdra... Sekkai, without another word ran down the stairs and out of sight, leaving the cleric in some room or another. The agile fighter then made his way down into the basement area, and down into even lower floors finding the slain beast in front of him. "There are two people at least in front of me... well, nobody seems to be watching!" he brought for his hands into a magical symbol, and then released the image around him, he had changed into Scale Armor, which was dark in color. His true form was then realized. Sekkai Karkale'... an non-Eladrin assassin.
I will find you... wherever you are!
"Hm... this door is locked..." Xyvii complained looking annoyingly around her. Her dwarf companion was trailing behind her, trying to open a series of doors they had run into. "Hm, it seems that the doors on the right are locked..." he muttered finding that Xyvii was leading them aimlessly deeper into the cave. They tried a few more doors, only to find that they were getting nowhere. "Lets try the left?" The Eladrin suggested and the Great Tinner nodded- they went left, finding that there was a giant hole in the ground. "I'll jump to the other side and see what I find!" he said leaping from one end to the other. He landed on a square button that made a horrible sound, soon a large block came crashing down blocking his passage from Xyvii. "Oh! I'll find another way in!" she cried quickly running off, leaving the dwarf behind the large pillar. The dwarf quickly felt around, no way out that way-- he then moved down the hallway into a strange chamber.

The dwarf stood silently in the chamber... four large pedestal were erected from the ground, and he studied one of them intently for a time. He only could find that the pedestals were number one through four- with little significance about them. Confused he turned around- what was standing by the doorway was what appeared to be a very tall, yet pale person. Encased in dark scale armor stood the image of Sekkai slightly wavy in the darkness of the cave.
I have found you at last... Great Tinner!
The dwarf turned, and saw Sekkai standing in front of him. Of course, the dwarf had no idea who he was, so his intital reaction was: "Who are you? What are you doing here?"
"I have found you! Great Tinner...!" he said pointing a finger at the dwarf, who in turn got into stance automatically, of course this assassin could be after him, however unlikely. "How did you get passed the giant pillar?" he inquired and the assassin smiled. "I am A Shader-Kai... one of the outerplaner beings... I possess magics that allow me to pass through object, using teleportation." he explained, Just like an Eladrin... gr... Xyvii, why didn't you think of that? the dwarf thought, it was hard to believe that this assassin would present such information, it seemed too... arrogant, or confidant. "You are also one of the assassins, I can see your insignia from here what is your business...?" the dwarf asked and Sekkai finally understood what he was getting at. "Hm, well I haven't come to kill you or anything... but to convey a message... a dark one." he said and the dwarf eased up, "Alright, what is this message?" the dwarf asked and the assassin came a bit closer.
"My name is Sekkai Karkale', I have been working under Lord Tharivol for nearly six years now... he has insured me the message that Lord Thyse... still plans on killing you!" the words came and went, like a holy bell silence followed, whatever it was the dwarf was thinking remained behind his hardened expression. That is not good news... especially since Tharivol had to convey such a message in this manner! the dwarf thought darkly. "There is more to it...your former companions... Creal and Dark Serium... have been murdered by the hands of Thyse... there is no doubt, he still holds a grudge from what the Aramil mercenaries have done..." he said, and the dwarf paused, it had been a long time since he had last seen either Creal or Dark, so the blow wasn't nearly as bad had they been traveling together. "It is saddening... but I suppose it was bound to happen..." he said quietly, I was supposed to tell Asdra this as well... but oh well... one more death wont matter... that is if Lord Thyse can even make it to this ghost world... Sekkai thought, he knew of the power necromancer, and feared him to an extent. "I am also, looking for Map Maker Solgar..." he added and the dwarf smiled, "You too huh... well then, lets start by finding a way out of this place!"
They worked for a time, trying to figure out how to move the stone pillar out of the way. "Well... knowing that this is a mine, I have heard that people used to test out air shafts using sealed rooms... it might seem kind of primitive, but my guess is... in case there was an accident inside of the room itself, there had to be a way to remove the boulder... my guess the four number pedestals..." Sekkai said and the dwarf nodded, "lets take a closer look at these..." they moved over to a separate pillar and examined it carefully. "I see... they are carved so you wouldn't notice..." Sekkai said pointing at the pedestal. "Hm?"
"It is a set of rings, with an inner hook to connect the top one, and some hidden mechanism underneath the floor... so when you twist it, it moves the gears... and moves the stone pillar!" They managed to twist each of the pedestals and when they checked back the stone pillar was gone. They moved quickly through the cave and wondered where else to go. "We know the doors are locked... on the right... and south just brings us to the overlook. We need to move left then right...?" Sekkai asked and the dwarf nodded, "Lets move... my companion and I were seperated so I wonder where she went off too..." he said and Sekkai suddenly thought of something. "You wouldn't be traveling with... Xyvii...?" he asked curiously, "Hn... yeah, I was... by incident it seems, but still... I suppose she is on Lord Thyse's black list as well..." he said, and Sekkai nodded, "Quite so... it isn't very common though...never mind..."
From what Tharivol told me before I left... Xyvii too is a planetouched... I wonder if the stories are true... he thought quickly following the dwarf to a passage that had a suspicious looking mine cart set on a pair of tracks. Whoever used this mine cart last, hasn't returned yet...maybe it was those hobgoblins from earlier? Sekkai thought poking the cart tentatively. "It doesn't look like we can trust the cart..." the Great Tinner said looking at it suspiciously. "Hm, I wouldn't trust it either... mine carts are known to be... untrustworthy..." he said with a sense of humor and the dwarf shrugged, "lets use it anyway..." Sekkai said giving it a forcing kick as it screeched down the tracks. "Quick, lets follow it!" The dwarf yelled chasing after the cart. Man... he's fast... for a dwarf... Sekkai thought running after the Great Tinner. The followed the cart in till they reached a fork in the tracks, but it kept going towards the right, and the fighter and the Assassin had no choice but to follow after it as it sped down the pathway through another cave. When it crashed into the buffer, the two found themselves a midst a group of hobgoblins wielding savage looking spears, bows, and swords.
"Not good!" the dwarf shouted drawing out his war hammers, and Sekkai removing his katar.

The first hobgoblin didn't even get a chance to move before the great dwarf was upon him, smashing in his head with a large hammer, crumpling him to the ground. There six or so goblins left in the room, each removing a series of weapons, perfect for an average defense. Arrows flew out, one it the dwarf, another hit Sekkai, but didn't wound them. Without much more thought, the assassin disappeared, and then reappeared right next to one of the archers, inserting his punching dagger right into the creature's chest, and then striking it again in the thigh, causing it to whimper and then fall onto the ground.
It took only a while, before the dwarf and the Shader Kai defeated the rest of them, and found a bit of gold, and a ring of kings for unlocking various doors. The found a door in the back which lead them to a series of cells. Here they found the missing troop that were accompanying the map-maker. They released the surviving prisoners, and then went in search of the boss -goblin. They took the mine cart to the next area, finding a large room full of slave unpleasant womanes, serving a large goblin boss- who was enjoying a meal of freshly cooked meat and some fine wine. Before the great tinner could say much else, Sekkai turned invisible, and the dwarf had a feeling it might come in handy. The troop, alongside the dwarf rushed forward to attack the goblin boss. It was a quick battle, Sekkai appeared just in time to finish the creature off.
What the hell? Sekkai thought, looking at the boss's backpack. "Its moving?!" then as the opened the back pack an old man came out, who appeared to be slightly gnomish. "Ah! You've rescued me! I am... map maker Solgar!"
And so... the real quest began... well soon anyway... the dwarf and the assassin made their way out of the cave... and collected the prize money for the quest.
"We shall meet again... perhaps..." Sekkai said disappearing. He entered the small house that he had started out in, a few days earlier. The great Tinner walked away... someplace in Anadam...
"Ivy...I'm home!" he said with a smile, and the dark haired girl came to greet him with a hug. He embraced her and smiled. "I completed a quest... we have money again..." he said silently... he had been in this land for only half a year, and yet he loved it so much. "Is Amy coming?" she asked, and he nodded, as the land lady came in, of course-- she too was from Sekkai's world. They had met during one of his early bouts, and had gotten together. They were lovers, Amy and Sekkai- and Ivy was an orphan they had taken in upon reaching Anadam.
"There is trouble stirring, my love... and Ivy... be careful... I will stay here for now, but soon I may be going a long journey." he said quietly, and they sat down enjoying a fine meal together.
