Welcome to Ivendra's maple story guide for the helpless...
We all know you are in a tough spot because, well you don't know anything at all about Maple story. So let us get into it, shall we?
You already know about channels and making characters right... and then usually you decide what kind of character you want to make.
*And hopefully you know to press up in order to go through portals, including hidden ones!
Okay so there are: Thief, Mage, Warrior, and Archer.
Because this is a private server, you can be anything, because the money drop is insane. You can makes millions easily. So there, you can be anything you want to.
Thief guide:
Well, being a thief is all about Luk, and a little dex. Gauge it so that by the time you reach level 10 or so, have 25 dex and everything else goes into Luk. Luk is a thief's power. Then...keep dex around your level... but only increase your dex every ten level or so.
SO... if you are level 101, don't have 101 dex, have those five points go into Luk instead. Your Luk must be very high. If yo are going to make a thief on this server, you should make an assassin, which means you use throwing stars... preferably, steely or Ilbi stars. (You can find these form monster drops or whatever it is you might train on.)
Mage guide:
Don't be a mage... but if you must...
your luk is 3 above your level, and everything else goes into intelligence. Yep yep. That is about all I have to say.
Warrior guide:
Strength, you need lots of strength, and then some dex. (My dex is 79 right not, with mods from Z-helm and what not so...) keep your dex below 100 I guess, depending on how your accuracy turns out. But strength, lots of strength, and some dex. (Oh, and make sure you become a fighter, then a crusader, and then a hero... because those are the best... maybe)
Archer guide:
Dex Dex Dex... but keep your strength, about your level, so that you can use bows and what not and other equips.
Well that is the guide so far.
So lets get some terminology so far. This is all top secret stuff...
When you want to job advance from beginner to whatever... you have to talk to different people.
Dancing with Balrog in Perion to become a warrior....
The creepy dude in Kerning to become a thief...
Athena (Is that her name?) in henesys to become an archer
Grendel the really old to become a mage.
Okay... then when you reach level 30, you talk to cody, who can be found in Henesys and then you automatically advance... do this again when you reach level 70, and level 120.
Oh, and also talk to Duey, the delivery guy once... he is in Henesys too... or anywhere for that matter. He maxes your skills (k) < that is the button you press.
also, press \ so that your key board configuration comes up. Make sure you have a button for manna potions and healing potions so that you don't die in the middle of a goby house, or on a papulatus run... or whatever. Also put your attacking skills here... like double shot, lucky seven, slash blast, thunder bolt... or whatever it is you have.
You don't need to take a taxi or anything like that to get around... just press trade at the bottom of your screen to send you to the free market. Talk to Spinel, who can take you anywhere for a small fee. (There is also Amos the boss warper you can take you to the most common bosses in the game...)
Some words people use...
Onyx apple: These useful things boost your stats, and are used by every serious trainer... but... yeah.
Crack deminsion peice: This is what you need to fight the boss papulatus, it is what you use to summon him.
Pap: or Papulatus, or however you spell it... is a giant clock ghost boss of ludibrimium.
Ludi: ludibrium... or however you spell it... it is a place to go... like lego land or something.
Zak: Zakum... your eight armed friend from some inca origin.
Fog: Forest of golem...
Okay... enough of that stuff... here is a good idea for new players.
Use potions whenever you take damage below half of your health.
Here is a training guide.
You can level up on snails, and mushrooms and stumps in till level 30 easily. Then when you reach level 30, you should go to Teddys, which are in Ludi... if you explore Ludi enough you will find them. Then once you roll around level 45-50, you could try Fog, which is located in sleepy wood, the second door, and all the way down... (or maybe it is the third door). Then when you reach 60 almost 70, you could go to Voddo's (SP?) which are located in New leaf city, you go left in till you see the Long Taxi, which will take you to the haunted house... which you go into to fight voddo's. Then depending on what class you are... around 80 or 90, you go to squids in till hm... maybe 120... and then you keep training for a while longer... then when you think you are ready, try skelegons (go to Horntail cave, talk to Amos...)
That is all... any questions post em here.
